The final presentation of the project for the design of a model primary school (Co-Ed School) – Phase Two

On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, the final presentation for the second-year students in the Architectural Design branch of the Department of Architecture Engineering took place. The project, titled “Design of a Model Primary School,” aimed to introduce students to the function of co-educational primary school buildings by providing an inspiring educational environment. This included designing comfortable classrooms equipped with modern educational technologies, enhancing social interaction by providing shared spaces such as playgrounds and libraries to promote student interaction, and incorporating flexibility in the design by creating adaptable spaces to meet various needs such as group or individual activities. The design also considered the different human scale for children while integrating it with the scale of adults in a single project. Additionally, the project focused on the integration of activities through studying the spatial distribution of educational, recreational, and administrative activities, as well as the distribution of furniture within spaces. Environmental sustainability was also a key aspect, using eco-friendly building materials and designing natural lighting and ventilation systems. The project further ensured the safety and security of students by providing clear emergency exits, designing wide corridors for easy movement, and creating a safe design environment for students to access and leave the project site.

The esteemed scientific and administrative assistants were invited to attend the evaluation process of the student projects, conducted by Dr. Ahmed Louay Ahmed, the Head of the Second-Year Architectural Design course. They praised the high level and diversity of the creative design ideas presented by the students.

The design team consisted of the following distinguished members:
